Root cause of the whole saga: the Beehiiv subscribe form is a cross-origin iframe
we cannot restyle, and its interior is white, so it can never sit cleanly on the
navy plan card. Answer: change the surface, not the form. Both live states render
on ONE light Ocean Fog panel, the same surface the 219 live articles already use.
No trigger step: the field is visible on load per the v7.0 lock. Article-side
only, zero Beehiiv dependence. Every state shares one look.
DO NOT re-add border-radius or overflow:hidden to .capform: a rounded clip slices
the embed's own pill outline and leaves a visible break at the left end. On a light
panel the clip buys nothing, because there is no artifact left to hide. */

1

All eight, and what each one actually does

There are eight B vitamins, and MedlinePlus lists them plainly: thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, pantothenic acid, B6, biotin, B12 and folic acid.

They are not interchangeable. Thiamin turns carbs into cell energy. Riboflavin supports growth and red blood cells. Niacin keeps skin and nerves healthy. B6 helps make red blood cells and supports the brain. B12 and folate work as a pair on red blood cells and on DNA.

They also share one habit worth knowing. These vitamins leave the body in the urine, so they have to be eaten regularly rather than stockpiled. That is why the answer is a daily eating pattern, not an occasional megadose.

The tell

A bottle that sells you one big number and never names all eight is selling the label, not the nutrient.

2

B12 is the one that stops being about diet

This is where the aisle is right, and it is narrow. The NIH Office of Dietary Supplements says most people in the United States get enough B12 from food, then names the groups who do not.

People over 50 often lack the stomach acid to free B12 from food. So ODS says they should get most of theirs from fortified foods or supplements. People who eat little or no animal food have no natural source at all. Acid reducers and metformin can both lower how much gets in. Pernicious anemia, atrophic gastritis, celiac disease, Crohn's disease and stomach surgery all break the same path.

NHLBI adds the part people miss: a blood test can come back normal and you may still have the condition. Untreated, the nerve symptoms can become permanent. So this is a conversation with a clinician, not a decision made in an aisle.

3

Folate has a form question, and a real ceiling

Folate is the other one worth checking. The ODS folate factsheet says most people in the United States get enough, and names the exceptions: teen girls and younger women, non-Hispanic Black women, people with alcohol use disorder, people with celiac disease or inflammatory bowel disease, and people with an MTHFR gene variant.

Form matters here in a way it does not for B12. Supplements with 5-MTHF may work better for some people with an MTHFR C677T variant. But ODS is firm on one point. Anyone who could become pregnant should take folic acid, not 5-MTHF, even with that variant.

There is also a ceiling, and it is there for a reason. Large amounts of folate can fix the anemia a B12 shortfall causes. The nerve damage then carries on unseen. That is the best argument for a balanced complex over a stack of singles. The plan prints the number.

Free first

If you are not on either short list, an extra egg, a bowl of fortified cereal or a serving of beans does the same job for less.
